Gas Leak Repaired

Good morning Carriage Way Neighbors - happy Saturday! Early in the morning, yesterday, on March 2nd, I was advised of a gas smell near the intersection of Carriage Place and County Line Lane. Needless to say I contacted Nicor Gas to investigate the area, and in referencing our CWPOA contact log, fortunately I found we had the mobile phone contact information for the two neighbors most likely affected, and successfully reached them both. Today's blog is to highlight how important sharing your contact information with the CWPOA Board can be. It's also an opportunity to remind us to flag issues we see in our neighborhood. In this case, Nicor found the leak and fixed it. Our vision, shared by many on our CWPOA board is to be part of an engaged community. To this end, the responsibilities to get involved falls on each and everyone of us! Let's find ways to look after one another. If a neighbor is going on vacation, offer to help with the mail or the trash. If you notice a possible dangerous condition, don't hesitate to report it: to the neighbor affected, to the CWPOA Board, to the entity who oversees it (ex. Nicor) to local police department, etc.- just be sure to report it. Also, it turns out Nicor has been in the area before to deal with this. You're not alone: I ask that you notify the board via the website or email of such issues so that we may track them for the benefit of our community. Take care and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! -Anabel
